Childhood Character is a small air-dry clay sculpture inspired by a drawing I originally made in a notebook when I was in elementary school. I recreated the character years later as a three-dimensional figure, keeping the exaggerated proportions, unusual facial features, and playful simplicity of the original childhood drawing. The work is about revisiting childhood imagination without trying to refine or “correct” it through an adult perspective. Its oversized head, expressive eyes and quirky smile preserve the spontaneous visual language of the original sketch, turning a small memory from childhood into a physical object.
